Before I get into the blog post, I wanted to announce that the contest for the free hardcover copy of Fifty Shades of Grace has drawn to a close and the winner is Nicoline S! I will be emailing you with details shortly! :) Congratulations!
I have a history that spans literal decades with fandoms.
Before Hazbin Hotel --and probably most predominantly--was the Disney duck universe. I participated in The Emperor's New Groove fandom. And the one that started me on this journey: Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame.
I flirted with a few others not quite as deeply as I was involved in the aforementioned Disney cartoon fandoms--from Cape Suzette to a very short-lived jaunt into Gummi Glen. I spent some time (metaphorically) in Hawai'i for Lilo and Stitch. And on the very periphery, there were ideas for OCs in the Disney's Hercules, Treasure Planet, and Mulan fandoms.
The standout of all these experiences existed in the Disney duck fandom. I spent years and years and years with the Darkwing Duck/DuckTales/Mighty Ducks characters and a few OCs I created to dwell in Duckburg and St. Canard. I wrote and drew these characters for 22 years before switching gears to create Alight and The Witches' Rede series.
The most notable thing for me about about the the time I spent in the Darkwing/DuckTales fandom was my primary OC, Tegwen. And what was so special about her? She was the first character I created who fell for a villain. And she fell hard. I wouldn't recognize it until literally last year (let's do the math: that was thirty-three years) but that would be my introduction to dark romance.
Tegwen and her love interest were also my first experience with the "she fell first, he fell harder" trope. There was enemies to lovers, forced proximity, some amnesia, an "only one bed," age gap, considerable height difference, power/control disparity, BDSM.
God what a freakin' good time that was!
So in short: Tegwen and Steelbeak walked so Grace and Alastor could--do whatever this is that they're doing (which I still have yet to figure out ... and only a few chapters left in which to do so). 😅 No pressure.

Quick poll time!
Should I include a dicktionary* with this next fic? (And maybe go back and add one to the first fic?)
0%Yes
0%No
*dicktionary: a table of contents that shows which chapters include spice
I'm now 79,416 words into the second fic. I finally put chapter 21 out of its misery and I'm working on chapter 23. My goal is to finish this draft before the end of this month. 5 chapters to go (I ... had to add another this morning) and one is all but fully written already.
Until next week, deer friends!

It is so strange to see Tegwen and Steelbeak digitized!
Also IPads were around in 2012. I remember looking at them because I had so much downtime at work and I wanted something I could play FarmVille on 😂
